If you'd like to take the next step, complete the online assessment to find out whether the Online Program is suitable for you. Once we've received your assessment form we'll call or email you to find out any additional information we might need, and answer any questions you might have.

Induction Week is where you meet your fellow online participants and provides a taste of the Transformations Program. We work through what is trauma, classes, groups, a recreational activity and suggest options for your work therapy which you undertake in your own time and accountable by you. We do a live catch-up at 2.45 pm (AET) to see how the work went and what you did during the day and how you are feeling about what’s going on. During the last day, one-on-one online meetings take place to see if you want to continue to Stage 1.

This is where participants:

  • Join classes to gain an understanding of basic human behaviours and develop life skills.

  • Learn how to make informed choices about future treatment needs and options.

  • Receive education on issues such as relapse prevention, relaxation, harms minimisation, infectious diseases, basic nutrition and conflict resolution.

  • Go through basic sessions on anger, shame, grief and loss, fear and guilt, and self-esteem.

  • Participate in work therapy, which might mean doing something in your own community or for yourself in a structured, disciplined away or doing your homework for the Program or reading the designated book.

Every day there is a morning and afternoon catch-up. A mentor and case manager is allocated to support you during your online Program.

Life begins to change.

This stage involves:

  • Increased feelings of self-worth, gaining self-confidence in decision-making and learning through consequential thinking.

  • Restructuring lifestyles, developing healthy attitudes and activities, and setting realistic goals.

  • Exchanging false belief systems and learning Cognitive Behaviour Therapy through self-regulating behaviour.

  • Addressing core issues including past trauma, grief, loss and shame.

Personal recovery is underway.

  • Classes in Management and people skills, stress management and time management.

  • Selfless behaviour and identify, and address power and control issues in their behaviour and belief systems.

  • Your case manager will update your Individual Treatment Plan with your goals for when you complete the Program and what that might look like where you live.

Stepping into a new life

Participants in this level of the program are required to:

  • Volunteer time in some area of Dreambuilders Transformations to help mentor new participants and to keep themselves accountable in their new behaviours. A mentor is very important for an online participant. In this stage you might be the facilitator of some of the classes and/or groups.

  • Be actively seeking and/or in employment or vocational training.

  • Continue to attend online study groups within the program and undertake a book study, which draws together the learning in the previous 3 stages.

Moving to...

Changed behaviour, life in control, positive relationships and healthy boundaries are in place.

New life begun.
